I have a 1995 Saab 900S with the check engine light on. Sometimes the light will come on and stay on for a week. Then, the light will go off for a few days or a few weeks. I have taken my car to two Saab dealers and several other mechanics. When a diagnostic tool is used no code appears.
We have already replaced the oxygen sensor, checked the catalytic converter, replaced hoses and the air intake O rings, installed a new battery, and purchased a new gas cap. What else could be causing this problem? The car has never missed a service check and has been properly maintained since it was purchased. Thanks! |

Have you had it checked for codes when the light is on if not that would be the next step if you have had it checked with the light on and no codes were present then you have a defective PCM. It is turning on the light when no codes are present, replacing it will be expensive so you may not want to repair it unless you can find a used one.
