I figured out what im gonna do i just bought trans fluid for the trans and i plan on buying lucas trans additive and flushing the trans out and installing a new filter and gasket...the problem is, is that i dont know how to do it---i know that the benz has a cover you have to unscrew off to get to the trans but i really need a step by step look at it and i cant find one on the internet
I dont want to throw away money on jiffy lube or some mechanic that charges 65 bucks an hour and i think this will work...Im thinking that theres a valve problem not anything with linkage---Let me know
Thanks,
Alex

By the way i also bought a new air filter any tips on installation of that--im pretty sure i know what to do but i dont want to screw anything up

excuse me i mean drain the trans. NOT FLUSH

also can draining the trans ruin the trans. or is that only with flushing
thanks,
ALEX

what else will i need for tools a pump etc.

draining the fluid can be a messy job I assume the trans has a pan if so remove it and the filter remove one cooling line and briefly run the engine to pump out excess fluid replace filter pan and refill

the air filter should be pretty easy just be careful of the air tube going to the canister I think its about time for you to buy a repair manual

About 20 minutes ago I started my mercedes and started it up waited 8 minutes or so and applied pressure very slowly to the gas while in park applied about a 4th down then let off slowly then applied pressure again 2 minutes later slowly to about a third way down---waited 1 minute and a half applied pressure half way down very slowly and let off slowly---all these times went smoothly except once while i was slowly letting off the gas it felt as though it kicked back
to finish it off i pressed down faster than before and it kicked back sort of or something like that--it felt bad
also i checked the trans. fluid and its pinkish should i still change it and the trans. filter?
by the way when i was done warming the mercedes up it read 12.5 celcius it started off at 3 or 4 celcius
what do you think? any body have and ideas?
cheif?
Thanks,
Alex

Well I called a few places and they want 120 to 160 dollars to do the job and I think that is just to mush so I need to jack up the car and do it myself.

I can; but before I do anything I Am going to get the Transmission drained and filter replaced and cleaned etc.
I dont want to waste my time doing anything else with the car until after I have done that.
Ammco has a good deal for the trans. drain etc. So I will go to them and I will get back to you after that...it might take a while for me to get that done
Thanks,
Alex
